Over the weekend, the San Joaquin County Sheriffs Office conducted a special operation to catch child sexual predators. They used 5 officers to act as juveniles after posting on 5 sex websites and apps. They would then communicate back and forth with the men looking to hook up with a boy or girl. In some cases, the "john" trying to hook-up wanted to talk on the phone. This is an actual conversation between San Joaquin County Sheriffs deputy Irene Shelvay and a "john" that took place Friday night. Shalvay is a Child Abuse Sexual Assault detective. She has been on these details for two years. She estimates she has hooked and arrested 60 child sexual predators who come as far away as Gilroy to hook up at a local hotel.
